ECIS exists as a professional life-force for members, a vibrant network of thoughtful doers and change-makers. Our membership represents 500 membership communities and 40,000+ passionate educators and leaders in over 80 countries on six continents.

DEIJ Impact Report
In 2020, ECIS outlined a road map of key actions, identified concrete ways to set DEIJ (Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, & Justice) goals and strategies within our own organisation, and took decisive steps to support our member schools and suggest ways forward in our work.
ECIS is committed to institutionalising DEIJ within our own organisational culture. This Impact Report measures the effective- ness of this conscious work across the following strands and themes.
ECIS Member Schools win at International School Awards 2023
International School of the Year 2023
The ISC Research International School of the Year 2023 was awarded to Tanglin Trust School in Singapore. The school was selected by the judging panel for implementing two outstanding initiatives.
ECIS Winners
In addition to winning the International School of the Year award, ECIS schools also won three of the ten category awards:
- The American School of Warsaw in Poland won the Community Partnership Award for its initiative providing support for the Ukraine community established in response to the war in Ukraine.
- Tanglin Trust School in Singapore won the Ethical Values Education Award for embedding the rights of children into the school’s ethos and culture as part of an initiative that has also achieved the Gold UNICEF Rights Respecting Schools Award (RRSA).
- Western Academy of Beijing in China won the Strategic Leadership Award for an initiative focusing on student agency to shape the future of learning at the school, developed in collaboration with students and alumni.
