SECURING SUCCESS FOR EAL STUDENTS IN THE MAINSTREAM CLASSROOM

ABOUT THIS COURSE

UNLOCKING THE POTENTIAL OF EAL STUDENTS

Duration: 2 days

Throughout international schools around the world, student cohorts are becoming increasingly diverse. We want our students from a dizzying variety of cultural, pedagogical, and linguistic backgrounds to access curriculum aims and objectives with the same fluency and aspiration as native language proficient students. Not only is this possible, but there now exists a wealth of dependable strategies and materials to confidently secure such success.

This course is based firmly on approaches, techniques, theories, and cases studies that have created real results in actual classrooms around the world. Outstanding materials, activities, and practical tips and tricks will ensure that you can return to your students with a clear set of principles and practices on which to enhance the learning outcomes for all your students.

AWARD-WINNING COURSE DESIGNER

This course is designed by the ex-Head of the English Faculty at Harrow International School, Bangkok, who was entrusted with the creation of the provision for teaching EAL students and developing strategies to support the teaching of EAL students in the mainstream. His research-led and practitioner/learner-focused approaches were such a success that they received various international accolades including awards from Cambridge International Examinations.

In six years of leading the English Faculty, students on his courses achieved four ‘Top in Thailand’ awards (with well over 100 international schools in Thailand serving a predominantly EAL cohort) and three ‘Best in the World’ awards for their successes.

This unique programme is an absolute must for those wishing to improve the academic achievement of their EAL pupils, within an English speaking exam system.
