Global Advisory Services
Helping Organisations With Critical Issues and Opportunities
ECIS is pleased to announce our Global Advisory Services, an aspect of school services that we will grow from 2018-19. We work with schools, school groups, school management companies, investors, and ministries to help them make better decisions, convert those decisions to actions, and deliver the success they desire.
The launch of Global Advisory Services draws on the rich tradition of our having offered consultancy services in the past. With more than 50 years of experience in the international education sector, ECIS is well-positioned to advise schools and leaders on their most critical issues and opportunities. Our diverse network of schools means that we understand the various contexts in which schools must operate, and that just because something works in one place does not mean it is easily transferred to another. Context matters.
Our network is our strength. ECIS Global Advisory Services maintains key relationships with advisory partners, including Lead Partners and Preferred Partners, to assist us in meeting the needs of schools and other educational clients the world over. We also rely on in-house expertise to lead on selected projects.
We invite you to learn more about our practice areas: Strategy & Innovation, Data & Technology, Governance, Safety & Security, Teaching & Learning, Professional Learning.
ECIS members receive discounts of up to 20% on our advisory services!
FREE CONSULTATION
ECIS Level 2 members receive a free, one-hour consultation as part of their membership package, whilst Level 3 members receive two hours. Many schools find this membership benefit invaluable.
Discounts on advisory services are as follows: 10% for Level 1 members, 15% for Level 2 members, and 20% for Level 3 members.
Governance Practice
The duty of care and stewardship that comes with serving on the governing body of the school cannot be understated; it is of immense importance, when we consider the lives we are preparing. Yet members of the governing body need to be careful that they do not spend all their time in the fiduciary mode of governance, focusing exclusively on finances, integrity, compliance, and legal liabilities. Boards need to get it right, of course, yet to hold the school ‘in trust’ for others necessitates that board members exercise the strategic and generative modes as well, ensuring a healthy and strong school for years to come.
‘Getting it right’ means a commitment to practice, which may mean a board retreat is in order, as part of a regular ‘health check’ to ensure that the board is operating as it should. At other times, there may be a crisis at the school for which the board needs guidance on its role, or the crisis may be between the head and the board itself. Whatever the circumstance, as a proponent of solid governance, ECIS can help you with the pursuit of effective governance. Contact us to determine how we might help you.

Whether you consider yourselves light on technology or are looking at next-gen developments, our data and technology practice helps you with everything from tech planning and tech integration to creating data dashboard and learning analytics, and more.

Professional Learning Practice
Following our effective professional learning framework informed by the work of the Teacher Development Trust, we collaborate with individual schools or groups of like-minded schools to identify and design custom professional learning solutions, vetting best-in-class providers, overseeing provision, and providing quality assurance throughout the experience.
Our experience in diverse education environments around the world means we can help you to address the specific needs of your school, bringing global insights to a very personalised level.
Strategy & Innovation Practice
The intersection of strategy and innovation is where the future relevance of schools can be found. Yet we know that this is challenging work! Our work with schools ensures that values inform how a school goes about strategy and innovation. If you are looking for a new approach to strategy-making, as opposed to a traditional strategic plan, we invite you to contact us to learn how we can help.

Teaching & Learning Practice
Teaching and learning are the heart of what we do in schools. To remain relevant in today’s world, schools must adapt. We work with schools in the following areas: coaching for teachers and leaders, maker cultures and maker learning, digital-age learning, digital citizenship, project-based learning, and more! We will source the right provider for you, vet them thoroughly, and provide quality assurance around their provision during the engagement with you.
“Both form and content were exemplary. Relevant, insightful, constructive. Very well-balanced facilitation: space and time to express ourselves and share, while moving towards established goals. Thank you!”
