Getting Started With Metacognition for Primary Teachers
Collaboration and reflection are key to effective learning. Under the guidance of an experienced Cambridge tutor, you will be working closely with other teachers to develop your understanding and share ideas and experiences.
By the end of the course you will be equipped with a range of concepts and tools for application in your teaching, and will have developed personal insights into your own teaching practices – and the practices of your international colleagues.
The course lasts five weeks:
Week 1: Introductions and overview of Metacognition
Week 2: Exploring what effective Metacognition looks like
Week 3: Preparing Metacognition strategies to try in the classroom
Week 4: Teaching practice and reflection
Week 5: Planning next steps to integrate Metacognition in teaching practice
Teachers should expect to spend 3 – 5 hours a week on the course.
Weeks 3 and 4 will involve putting what you have learned in to practice in a classroom and reflecting upon the outcome. Therefore it is important that you have access to learners during these weeks.
Our mission is to transform lives through international education.
