A 2015 international research report from our partner, Teacher Development Trust, showed that profound and lasting change in teaching practice and student outcomes stemmed from quality professional learning experiences of longer duration. Put simply, professional learning opportunities that provide sustained commitment with experiential components are the best choices for improving student outcomes. In alignment with that research, ECIS proudly introduces our Deep Dive course, developed in collaboration with Research Schools International.
The ECIS Deep Dive in Primary Mathematics course represents a fresh approach to professional learning, providing internationally-minded educators with research-based Mind, Brain, and Education (MBE) principles as they relate to primary (elementary) school mathematics. In addition, the course supports teachers in adapting mathematics instruction to reflect MBE strategies, as well as in evaluating how changes in pedagogical practice affect student outcomes. Our approach necessitates a team registration, as opposed to an individual registration. Schools must send a minimum of three teachers (preferably five) in order to ensure the most effective experience possible.
This is a hybrid course. A two-day, sixteen-hour deep dive (held in various locations) kicks off the professional learning experience, followed by online, classroom-embedded implementation of the MBE strategies over a period of approximately ten weeks.
To be confirmed. If you are interested in hosting this course, please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
