World Languages Day: 16 March

16 March 2021

- £15

World Languages Day: 16 March.

A  day of presentations and dialogue from AERO ( American Education Reaches Out) and supported by the US Department of State.

Now more than ever, the world needs multilingual, multicultural citizens. What is learned from the continuous and deep study of languages is unparalleled in the study of any content available today in schools.

Working with the AERO World Languages Team, ECIS is sponsoring this WORLD LANGUAGE DAY as an integral part of a commitment to fostering multilingualism/multiculturalism in international schools. Because the AERO World Language Model Curriculum Project Team has created a new approach to language learning, anchored in and based on the content from other core disciplines, ECIS invited the entire WL team to present 6 workshops on March 16, 2021. The workshops are intended for WL Teachers and Curriculum Designers.

The last year has been especially challenging for World Language teachers who are working in hybrid or online models sometimes relegated to lesser classroom time or reduced class meetings due to the pandemic. The workshops will present a standards-based K-12 curriculum framework that emanates from essential questions and ideas that flow from and through the other core disciplines as well as some sample, thematic units that are ready to be taught. We hope you can join us for this day of presentations and dialogue.
