Vibe Coding for Educators

Purpose Statement

Vibe Coding for Educators focuses on the practice of using AI tools to let teachers design and build their own customised digital learning tools without needing a formal coding background. The pace of AI development has made it possible, for the first time, for ordinary classroom teachers to create bespoke apps, games, and resources tailored to their exact students and curriculum, rather than relying on generic off-the-shelf edtech. The SIG exists because there is currently no dedicated space within ECIS connecting the educators exploring this rapidly emerging practice, sharing what works, and translating it into practical classroom impact. Its potential to strengthen Universal Design for Learning is a particular focus, since AI makes differentiation and accessibility quick and cheap to build.

Mission Statement

Vibe Coding for Educators aims to build a collaborative community of international school educators who use AI-assisted tool-building to enhance teaching and learning. Over time it intends to demystify vibe coding for non-technical teachers, develop shared resources and best practice, and showcase teacher-built tools that improve engagement, retrieval, and accessibility. Its intended impact is a growing network of confident teacher-creators across ECIS schools who can design their own learning tools, raising the quality and inclusivity of lessons while reducing reliance on expensive or one-size-fits-all software.
