ECIS Tech Conference

Learning to love the iGeneration – is education ready to embrace the irresistible IT vision of tomorrow’s classroom?

14–16 March 2013
ACS International Schools Cobham campus
Southwest of London, UK

The ECIS Tech Conference runs from 14th to the 16th March 2013. It will be hosted by ACS International Schools at their Cobham campus, south west of London.

The theme of the conference is ‘Learning to love the iGeneration – is education ready to embrace the irresistible IT vision of tomorrow’s classroom’.

In developing the theme the ACS team felt it was important to provoke and engage delegates into thinking beyond the accepted.

Pre-Conference Leadership Day – Thursday 14th March

In addition to the main conference there will be a Pre-Conference Leadership Day on Thursday 14th March aimed at Heads of School, Principals, Department Heads, IT Directors, Managers and Coordinators and other interested parties.  The Pre-Conference Leadership Day offers delegates a rare opportunity to engage in a series of round table debates lead by experts in implementing a 1:1/mobile device IT Strategy in schools. This event is limited to 100 participants.

Main Conference – Friday 15th & Saturday 16th March

The two main conference days offer delegates 4 powerful keynote speakers, opportunities to see IT integration in action through classroom tours, and stimulating break-out sessions debating the key issues around our theme:

‘That was then. This is now.’ Accentuating the generation change from baby boomers to bloggers – benefits, challenges, etc.

  • Technology – driver or enabler?
  • The role of IT in redefining schools of the future where students are more in control of the style and content of their own learning
  • The role of Social Media in technology and learning
  • Information at your fingertips – an advantage or a distraction
  • Data access and storage – the challenges
  • What's next – How do we keep up?
