Habitat for Humanity partners with more than 55 schools and universities by helping them fulfil their Community Action Service program creatively.
Habitat is a nonprofit Christian organization that seeks to eliminate poverty housing and homelessness from the world and make decent shelter a matter of conscience and action.
Habitat organizes volunteer trips for students and teachers to build homes alongside low-income families in need of improving housing conditions. Habitat offers building opportunities during fall, spring or summer breaks, at a location of your choice. In Europe and Central Asia, you can build with Habitat in the following countries: Armenia, Kyrgyzstan, Portugal, Poland, Romania and Tajikistan. You can also choose from over 30 countries worldwide.
Immerse your students into a new culture and language, and see each other from a different angle—all that by laying the foundations for new homes and friendships.
Give someone the chance of a better future, learn skills and live an adventure you’ll remember forever!
“Habitat for Humanity offers wonderful opportunities for students and teachers alike to channel their motivation and energy through action.”
Jacques De Sousa, Skagerak International School, Norway
“There is nothing more satisfying for students than the ability to see at the end of the day or time on a build site what they have accomplished - walls are up, concrete is poured, or a roof is on. "
Ben O’Brien, American International School Budapest, Hungary
