Membership

ECIS schools are committed to the promotion of an international outlook amongst all members of their communities.

Regular Membership confers full voting rights and eligibility for election to the Board of Trustees on an offical representative of the school, as well as access to all services. Membership is open globally to all schools that provide a full elementary and/or secondary education, share the purposes of ECIS and which may be called international in any of the following senses:
  • offering a curriculum in which the culture and educational system of two or more countries is represented;
  • offering a curriculum typical of one country, but located in another country and actively pursuing cultural exchange with its host country;
  • having a student body of diverse nationalities and educational aims and curricula offerings which promote and support the purposes of ECIS

Prospective/Provisional Membership is for newly-established schools and/or those new to ECIS.

Affiliate Membership is for a variety of institutions including colleges and universities that provide professional development for teachers and/or individual members, as well as specialist services at primary, secondary and higher education levels.

Supporting Membership is for suppliers of various services in a lively and growing market.

Individual Membership is for professional people who are interested in international education.

Please contact Katherine White for further information on membership.

The European Council of International Schools (ECIS) is a collaborative network promoting the ideals and best practice of international education.
ECIS leads in addressing significant current and future educational and global issues in support of its membership in Europe and worldwide.
