Certification, Awards, Fellowships
ECIS recognizes the crucial importance of ongoing professional development in the field of education. It is dedicated to providing and facilitating opportunities for professional development to enhance and improve the effectiveness of teachers, staff administrators and board trustees in its member schools.

International Leadership & Management Program
The ILMP is a school-based, practitioner program, designed to impact both directly and indirectly on improved student learning in schools. Participants develop their leadership capacity through a blended learning approach that includes residential, online and experiential learning..

Online Learning Program
ECIS Online Learning provides value-for-money training courses for teachers, school leaders, non-teaching staff, administrators and Board members. The program provides an on-going professional development solution for schools, with the choice of courses increasing year on year.

International Teacher Certification
There is nothing more important than the teaching of today's global students. Those aspiring to the demanding role of the international teacher must have quality preparation and support. The ECIS International Teacher Certificate (ITC) is awarded to teachers who successfully meet the ECIS Standards for Certification. The Certificate will be evidence of professional growth as an international educator and is intended to add value during the job search process. For more information email: itc@ecis.org


Fellowship Grants for the Advancement of International Education
The ECIS Fellowship Program provides recognition and financial incentives to selected recipients for work towards the advancement of international education. Stipends of up to a maximum of £3,000 each may be awarded annually to individuals or groups who are selected. Successful applicants will have support and guidance from a designated member of the Professional Development Committee or other international educator.

Award for the Promotion of International Education
The award can be presented to a deserving adult (or group) in the school community for exemplary voluntary contributions which have helped to promote and enhance international education and an understanding of world cultures.

Award for International Understanding
Awarded to an international school student who is a good representative of his/her own country, with a positive attitude toward the life and culture of others, able to converse in at least two languages, a contributing force in the life of the school, with the ability to bring differing people together into a sense of community, thus furthering the cause of international understanding.
