Supporting and Affiliate Members of the European Council of International Schools join an ever-expanding group of independent institutions now found in almost every country of the world. Membership of ECIS continues to grow and includes schools, colleges and universities world-wide.

For educational organizations and consultants, companies, publishers of text and trade books, manufacturers of educational materials and equipment, or service suppliers of a wide variety, these international schools, providing for the needs of more than 336,000 young people and employing over 35,000 teachers and administrators, create a market in which something in excess of £30,000,000 or US$50,000,000 is spent annually.

Supporting and Affiliate Members may participate as exhibitors at the twice-yearly conferences of the Council. The major conference is held in November in a major European city and, in usually attracts over 3,000 participants. In April a smaller conference is held for school heads, heads of departments, business managers, etc., approximately 300+ participants. In addition the ECIS staff are always on hand to provide information and assistance (and, where appropriate, recommendation) to Supporting and Affiliate Members, and the Council actively encourages schools to take advantage of the services and products that Supporting and Affiliate Members provide.

Supporting and Affiliate Members of ECIS can also benefit from the various activities of the Council: the supplies and services of each are described in the ECIS International Schools Directory - the most comprehensive guide to international schools, with details of more than 960 such institutions throughout the world. Each member also receives an entry in the fully-searchable database of services and supplies here on this website. Members may advertise in the Directory, and the International Schools Journal, the Council's twice-yearly academic journal. The ECIS magazine ‘is’ (International School), a 48-page full colour publication, is published three times per year and also carries advertising.

A very competitively-priced service now available to Supporting and Affiliate Members is the shipping of exhibitors' materials to the November Conference. ECIS anticipates setting up a materials consolidation with Dynamic International and ATLAS Promotions, whereby all materials for the exhibitors are assembled in the US or the UK, and shipped to the individual exhibitors’ stands.
