Schools are eligible to apply for membership, provided they are accredited or recognized by an appropriate educational authority and feel they can meet the standards for admission into membership. An applicant school is asked to supply comprehensive basic data along with a brief description of the school - its programme, facilities, character and organizational structure. School applications are considered by the Membership Committee of the ECIS Board of Directors. Before consideration a membership visit will be undertaken by a representative of the Executive Secretary at the school's expense. School membership is available in a number of categories.

Colleges
ECIS works together with institutes of Higher Education to provide Professional Development opportunities for Teacher and Administrators. These colleges can join as Supporting Members.
